Companion extension

Understand what the Cheqq Companion browser extension does once it's paired with your account.

The Cheqq Companion is a browser extension that lets Agent mode see and act on the page you're viewing, and lets browser-triggered workflows run from your current tab.

Pairing

There's no separate pairing code — install the extension and sign in to Cheqq in the same browser, and it picks up your session automatically. Each browser install registers as a device in Settings → Browser Devices, where you can rename it, make one primary, or remove (unpair) it.

What it can do

Once paired, the extension can:

  • Capture the current page — readable article text, your current text selection, or a screenshot — and feed it into a chat or a browser-triggered workflow
  • Drive the browser directly when Agent mode or a workflow's AI step needs to — navigating, clicking, typing, and reading whole pages — inside a dedicated tab group Cheqq controls, not your regular browsing tabs. The agent checks what each action did and knows its way around Gmail.

You stay in control

Buttons and links that are commands — send, pay, delete, place order, submit — ask for your approval in the side panel before they're pressed, and you can take manual control of the agent's tab at any time to pause it. The agent can't open or use Cheqq itself in your browser; inside Cheqq it works only through its own tools, under your permissions and approvals.

Presence and waiting

Because the extension runs on a real machine, unattended browser work depends on that machine being awake. A run that can't reach a device waits instead of failing, and starts when the device returns; the side panel says what it's waiting for. You can also declare active hours — the window automations are allowed to run in — so work that could run at 3am doesn't. See Runs that wait for your machine.

Where it lives

The extension's only interface is the browser's side panel — opened from the toolbar icon — showing your signed-in status, any browser-triggered workflows available for the current tab, and an approval/control panel while the agent is active.

Continue with Install and use the Companion extension.
